AN 1828/31 PATTERN SCOTTISH OFFICER'S BROADSWORD TOGETHER WITH A SILVER-MOUNTED SGIAN DUBH,
the first circa 1865, with 33in. double-edged spear-point blade, twin central narrow fullers, twin blind fullers at the forte, complex wire basket with panels pierced with heart-shaped designs, wire-bound sharkskin grip, bun pommel with burgundy tassel beneath, no inner guard, together with an incorrect iron scabbard, the second of usual form, with engraved silver mounts hallmarked for Edinburgh 1853, the rope-twist carved bog-oak hilt mounted with a cairngorm stone and complete with a non-functional miniature en-suite

Other Notes: This pair were formerly the property of Maj. Gen. L.K.H.D. Campbell, who entered service on 28th August 1863 and raised and commanded the 38th Dogras Regt., India
